Evgeni, who was unable to skate in the "Stars on Ice" show in St. Petersburg, spoke to the audience instead: "Dear friends, I’m very glad to see you over here and I want to congratulate you on the Town Day, a beautiful holiday – Birthday (301st anniversary of St. Petersburg), and to wish you happiness, love and first of all health. I want to beg your pardon for I couldn’t skate tonight for you. But I’m preparing a surprise for you and that surprise will be soon. Next autumn we’ll organize a show, where I’ll skate many times for you. A big thanks! I love you. Thanks for your understanding. I’m sorry."
